How online donations work

Donors don't need an account. They choose Donate on the event page, or Donate to Emma on a student's page, and fill in one short form.

The donation form

1. Choose an amount: $10, $25, $50, $100 or another amount, from $5 to $10,000.
2. Your details: their name, and an email for the receipt.
3. Message (optional): shown on the page with their donation.
4. Don't show my name on the page: shows them as "Anonymous" instead.
5. Add $X to cover the transaction fee: lets the donor pay the card processing fee, so the school gets more of the gift.
6. Payment: card, or Apple Pay or Google Pay where the device supports them.

The button shows the total, e.g. Donate $25.00, and updates as they make choices.

After they give

• They see a Thank you! page and are emailed a receipt.
• The donation appears on the page straight away, and counts toward the student's goal, their class and grade, and the event's total.
• It's listed on your Donations page as Card.

Safe and secure

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers. Your organization appears as the merchant on the donor's card statement.
