Setting up payments with Stripe

Online donations are paid into your organization's own Stripe account, and Stripe pays them out to your bank. Fun Run Fundraiser keeps only each event's transaction and platform fees. Until payments are set up, your donate buttons tell families that online giving opens soon.

Setting up payments takes about ten minutes. Only an organization Admin can do it.

Before you start

Stripe will ask for:

  • Your organization's details, such as its legal name and tax ID number.
  • A person to verify, usually the PTA treasurer or president. Stripe may ask for their date of birth, home address and part of their Social Security number: banks require this for any account that takes card payments.
  • The bank account the donations should be paid into.

Setting it up

  1. In the portal menu, choose Payments.
  2. Choose Set up payments with Stripe. You'll go to a secure form hosted by Stripe.
  3. Fill in the form and submit it. You'll come back to the Payments page.

If you need to stop part way, choose Continue setup later. Stripe saves what you've entered.
