Terms of Service

Effective October 21, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Fun Run Fundraiser ("we", "us"), which runs funrunfundraiser.com (the "service"), where schools and other organizations run fun run fundraisers. By creating an account, running a fundraiser, donating or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the service for an organization, you agree to them on its behalf.

The short version: organizations run their own fundraisers and are responsible for them. Online donations are processed by Stripe and paid straight to the organization; we never hold the money. We earn only the fees shown on our pricing page. Be honest, protect students' privacy, and don't misuse the service.

1. The service

Fun Run Fundraiser lets an organization, such as a school, PTA, PTO or booster club, set up a fundraising event with an event page, a page for each participating student, and online donations. Organizations can also record cash and check donations, track progress by student, class and grade, and use the other features of the plan they choose. Features vary by plan, as described on our pricing page.

We provide the tools. Each fundraiser is run by its organization, which decides its purpose, goal, content and how the money is used. We are not a charity, we don't run or endorse any fundraiser, and we are not a party to the gifts between donors and organizations.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 to create an account. Students don't have accounts; their organization adds them.
  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password secure and don't share your account. You're responsible for what happens under it. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
  • An organization's Admins control who else can manage it and with what role. Admins are responsible for inviting only people who should have access, and for removing people who no longer should.

3. Organizations' responsibilities

If you run a fundraiser, you confirm and agree that:

  • Your organization is based in the United States. The service is only for US organizations, and online donations are paid only to a US bank account.
  • You have the authority to run the fundraiser for your organization, and any approval your school, district or board requires.
  • You have the right to add each student and the information you enter about them, including any permission or parental consent your school's or district's policies require, and you'll follow those policies. Enter only what the fundraiser needs, choose how students' names appear publicly, and remove a student's information when a parent or guardian asks.
  • Your fundraiser's description, goal and purpose are accurate, and you'll use the money raised as you've described.
  • You'll follow the laws that apply to your fundraiser, such as rules on charitable solicitation, raffles and prizes, and tax reporting. Whether a donation is tax-deductible depends on your organization, and you're responsible for anything you tell donors about it.
  • You'll keep accurate records of cash and check donations you record, and handle that money yourselves.
  • You'll respond to donors' questions about your fundraiser.

4. Payments and Stripe

Online donations are processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). To accept them, your organization creates a Stripe account through our site. Payment processing services for organizations on Fun Run Fundraiser are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement (together, the "Stripe Services Agreement"). By agreeing to these terms or continuing to accept donations through the service, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement, as Stripe may modify it from time to time.

As a condition of our enabling payment processing through Stripe, you agree to give us and Stripe accurate and complete information about your organization and its representatives, and you authorize us to share that information, and information about donations made to your fundraisers, with Stripe as needed to provide the payment services.

  • Donations are charged on our platform and paid by Stripe to your organization's Stripe account, then to its bank account, on Stripe's payout schedule. We never hold your organization's funds.
  • Online donations open only once Stripe has verified your organization and enabled payments on its account.
  • Stripe may hold, delay or refuse payments or payouts under its own terms, and we can't override its decisions.
  • Card and bank details are entered on Stripe's secure forms and pages. We don't see or store them.

5. Fees

  • There are no setup fees and no subscriptions.
  • Each online donation carries a transaction fee, which covers card processing, and a platform fee set by the event's plan. The current fees are on our pricing page. Both are taken from each online donation before Stripe pays the rest to your organization.
  • Cash and check donations you record carry no fees.
  • On plans that offer it, donors can choose to add the transaction fee to their gift, so your organization receives more of it.
  • Fees are fixed when each donation is made. You can move an event to a higher plan at any time, and new donations then carry that plan's fees; an event's plan can't be moved to a lower one.
  • We may change our fees. A change applies only to donations made after it takes effect, and we'll tell organizers before it does.

6. Donations

If you donate:

  • Your gift goes to the organization running the fundraiser, not to us, and is used as that organization decides. Ask the organization if you have questions about how it will be used.
  • Whether your gift is tax-deductible depends on the organization. Online donors receive an emailed receipt, which includes the organization's tax ID when it has provided one.
  • Your name, message and gift may appear on the fundraiser's public pages, unless you choose to give anonymously, in which case your name isn't shown. Don't put anything in a message you wouldn't want shown publicly.
  • You must be authorized to use the payment method you give, and you agree to pay the total shown before you confirm.

7. Refunds and disputes

  • Donations are generally final. Refund requests come to us through our contact page, and we decide each one, consulting the organization where appropriate.
  • When we refund a donation, the donor gets their whole payment back. The organization returns its share of the donation and pays the transaction fee, which covers the card processing that can't be recovered; we return our platform fee.
  • If a donor's bank disputes a payment (a chargeback), the same applies, and the organization also pays the dispute fee Stripe charges. If the dispute is decided in the organization's favor, the donation is restored.
  • Your organization authorizes us to recover amounts it owes for refunds and disputes from its other donations, by reversing part of the payments made to it through Stripe, and from future donations if needed.
  • Please send refund requests to us rather than issuing refunds yourselves in Stripe, so that your records, totals and fees stay correct.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of what you add to the service, such as logos, photos, descriptions, page content and donation messages. You give us permission to host, copy, display, adapt (for example, resize) and share that content as needed to run and promote your fundraiser and provide the service, for as long as it's on the service. You confirm you have the rights to everything you add.

9. Acceptable use

Don't use the service to:

  • Raise money for anything unlawful, or by misleading or deceptive means.
  • Raise money for, send money to, or benefit any person, organization, country or region that is the target of US sanctions (such as those administered by the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control), or donate if you are such a person or are in such a place. We and Stripe may block, refund or hold any donation we believe breaks these rules.
  • Post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Share personal information about students or anyone else beyond what the fundraiser needs, or without the required permission.
  • Send spam, or use contact details from the service for anything other than the fundraiser they were given for.
  • Test stolen cards, launder money, or make donations to yourself or your organization to inflate totals or obtain prizes.
  • Break, probe or overload the service, get around its security or plan limits, or access accounts or information that aren't yours.
  • Copy or scrape the service, or use it to build a competing product.

10. Our service and content

The service, including its software, design, templates and our own text and images, belongs to us. You may use it only as these terms allow. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.

11. Suspending or closing accounts

  • You can stop using the service at any time. To close an account or organization, contact us.
  • We may suspend or close an account or fundraiser, remove content, or pause online donations if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, to prevent fraud or harm, or where the law or Stripe requires it. Where we can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
  • Closing an account doesn't undo donations already made, or change what an organization owes for refunds and disputes. Sections 5 to 7 and 10 to 16 continue to apply after an account is closed.

12. Disclaimers

We work to keep the service reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any fundraiser will reach its goal. We aren't responsible for the conduct of organizations, donors or other users, for how an organization uses the money it raises, or for the services of Stripe and other third parties.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, donations or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of the platform fees we received from your organization in the 12 months before the claim, or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

14. Indemnity

If you run a fundraiser, your organization agrees to defend and indemnify us against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from its fundraisers, its content, how it uses the money raised, or its breach of these terms or the law.

15. Changes

We may change the service and these terms as the service develops. We'll post the new terms here with a new effective date, and for significant changes we'll tell organizers by email or in the portal before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

16. General

  • If you have a concern, please contact us first; most problems can be solved quickly that way.
  • These terms, the Privacy Policy and, for organizations accepting online donations, the Stripe Services Agreement are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.
  • If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part straight away, we haven't given up the right to.
  • You can't transfer your rights under these terms without our agreement. We may transfer ours, for example if the business changes hands.
